Did you know that 72 % of global Nickel production is used to produce ‘Stainless Steel’?

The share increased in recent years due to growing STS production mainly in China & Indonesia and a slightly higher austenitic share.

Batteries account for less than 10 % today - but could reach 20 – 30 % in next 5 years and up to 50 % in 10 years.

This could have significant implications on pricing, e.g. different prices for battery type nickel and nickel for stainless steel production.
