Eurofer files lawsuit against European Commission over outcomes of SSCR anti-circumvention cases

Eurofer will challenge the results of two anti-circumvention investigations concerning imports of stainless steel cold-rolled flats from Taiwan, Türkiye, and Vietnam.
In May 2024, the European Commission (EC) officially extended anti-dumping duties (AD) of 19.5% and countervailing duties (CVD) of 20.5% on stainless steel cold-rolled sheets and coils (SSCR) from Indonesia to include products from Taiwan, Türkiye, and Vietnam in response to circumvention via imports of same products from those countries produced from Indonesian slabs and hot-rolled coils. However, the Commission granted full exemptions to eight producers and excluded Türkiye from the anti-dumping investigation, leaving the open door for imports.

In late July 2024, the European Steel Federation (Eurofer) lodged two complaints with the European Court of Justice seeking to revoke the granted exemptions. Continue Reading? Please click box below!
