European stainless steel prices continued to rise in June, driven by supply constraints. The trend might reverse during summer due to the end of the strike at Acerinox and persisting low demand.
Due to slow end-user demand for stainless steel flat products, the lack of supply in the cold-rolled segment became a concern only several months after the start of the strike at Acerinox's Los Barrios plant. Extremely low import deliveries due to slow order placements in the first months of the year exacerbated the situation as many distributors found their stocks lower than needed.
