South Korea reduces stainless steel exports in June on POSCO's maintenance

South Korean stainless steel exports slumped last month due to production cuts at the major manufacturer’s plant. Import volumes increased slightly, mainly for the same reason.
South Korean exporters shipped 64 kt of stainless steel products in June, down by 23.6 kt (or 27%) over the month and 36.5 kt (36.3%) over the year. The exports touched a record low in the last twenty months. In June, South Korean net imports amounted to 21.4 kt, while the country was the net exporter in the previous month with a 4.1 kt result.
