
Taiwan mulls its own CBAM
Taiwan is considering implementing its own version of a CBAM to protect industries from carbon leakage. This move comes as the global trend towards carbon pricing and climate action intensifies.
Environment Minister Peng Qi-Ming has indicated that details of the proposed Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism will be finalized by mid-2025. The ministry plans to collaborate closely with the ministries of economy and finance to develop a comprehensive strategy.
